The University of Reading is one of three UK Universities to have programmes selected for Joint Japan/ World Bank Scholarship Programme 2020-21

The Joint Japan/World Bank Scholarship Programme (JJ/WBSP) has selected three programmes fromsarahcardeypressrelease1 the University of Reading's Graduate Institute of International Development, Agriculture and Economics (GIIDAE) to be included as one of the 30 Preferred Programmes chosen from institutions world-wide for this year's scholarship programme.

Commenting on the news, Director of GIIDAE, Sarah Cardey said: "We are delighted that our programmes are being featured within such a prestigious, international scholarship programme. This acknowledges the importance of such programmes and the crucial role that they play in empowering change as we work together through learning to address the global challenges of today."

Open to applicants from developing countries with relevant professional experience and a history of supporting their countries' development efforts, the scholarship is now open for applications from those holding an unconditional offer with one of these GIIDAE programmes:

- MSc Agriculture and Development

- MSc Climate Change and Development

- MSc Development Finance

Sarah continued: "The Scholarship programme aims to enable students to pursue a variety of careers that are ideally placed to make a difference through postgraduate qualifications, and aligns with the ethos of our own comprehensive scholarship offering which assists scholars by enabling funding to support their studies."
