MSc by Research Animal Science

This flexible programme will aid your understanding of key topics associated with animal nutrition, health, behaviour and sustainable livestock production, while allowing you to develop as a researcher.

Taught elements of your degree are delivered online, enabling you to remain at your workplace during your studies.

The research element of your degree can be conducted either at your workplace or at the University. You can choose to complete the course in 18 months, or take up to 63 months, depending on your work demands.

Core modules

The first part of the programme, delivered with online support, will cover the following taught modules:

  • sustainable livestock production systems
  • contemporary issues in animal science
  • livestock nutrition and feeding
  • research methods and project management.

 

The second part of the programme will provide the opportunity to undertake an in-depth research project of your choosing.


Master's funding

Scholarships are available for master's students enrolling in 2022, some offered directly by the University and others allocated by external funding bodies. In order to apply, a candidate must have received an offer of admission to one of our participating master's courses.
