Circular bread roaster with a domed lid for making one loaf of bread at a time. It has a long handle for carrying the roaster.
This is a circular metal bread roaster with a domed lid for making one loaf of bread at a time. It is painted black with a circular base which supports a shallow round bowl. The knob is made of brass. It has a long handle for carrying the roaster and probably for suspending over the fire.

BREAD ROASTER. This bread roaster is made from metal. It was designed to make one loaf at a time. The handle was used for suspending the pot over a fire. It comes from Newbury, Berkshire. This item shows how people in the past made their own bread. MERL 51/435/102.
