    MERL Recording form – ‘… // Additional information: Really very little information. It came from Mr Jackson – Mill Farm – Darley. But I think he had purchased it in a lot of scrap at a Farm Sale. He knew nothing of its use or history & it is new to me. The only clue I have is that some time after acquiring the tool my son saw a television programme showing an engineering works & he informs me that a similar tool was used to make links of chain. //…’
