A halter weight, or 'manger log' used to keep the loose end of a horse?s halter lead taut when tied in the stable.
A halter weight, or 'manger log', is used to keep the loose end of a horse?s halter lead taut when tied in the stable. The end of the lead is passed through a ring in the manger and the weight is tied to the bottom. These four wooden and one iron halter weights are attached by a cord.
