  • Description
Nothing is known about this half-oxshoe, which was found on a scrap heap at a farm in Hamsterley. Oxshoes are nailed or glued to the ox's hooves to protect the hooves from wear and tear. Each hoof was fitted with two half-shoes, as an ox's hoof is cloven.
