Sussex plough,
Description
This Sussex type one-way turn wrest plough, with gallows, was made by Harry Atwood Thompson, of Lewes, Sussex. Thompson is listed in the Lewes PO Directory of 1855 as an Ironmonger, in 1867 as an Agricultural Implement Maker, and is no longer registered in 1878. The foundry was in the High Street, Lewes. The plough gallows are stamped 'H. A. Thompson, Lewes'.
