    Trade token issued in the late 18th C. Used to trade during times of coin shortages or advertising purposes. Issued in 1793, in Beccles.
    Trade tokens were often issued in the late eighteenth century by merchants. They were used to trade during times of coin shortages but also for advertising purposes. This token was issued in 1793 in Beccles, and features images and text on both sides. 'Communitate aucta // 1793' on one side and 'Beccles' on reverse.
