Scoops were used for digging land drains. Nothing is known of the origins of this scoop.
Scoops were used for digging land drains. The ditch would first be dug with a spade and then the bottom cleaned and smoothed with the scoop. This scoop is made of iron, and originally had a wooden handle which is now missing. Nothing is known of the origins of this scoop.
