  • Description
A dark, atmospheric etching of an urban waterfront scene. Tall, densely clustered buildings rise along the far side of a river or canal, their facades rendered with energetic, sketch-like lines. Some structures appear grand and heavy, with arched windows and a curved roof, while others look narrower and more irregular, creating a layered, slightly chaotic skyline. The foreground is almost completely open and pale, suggesting bright water and an unworked plate surface, broken only by a few small boats—one drifting alone and two moored near the bank.
