- DescriptionDutch ovens were used for cooking food on the hearth in front of the fire. This is the drip pan from a Dutch oven, which also came with a bottle jack and flywheel. It was last used by the donor and his wife in front of the kitchen fire circa 1945, and is believed to date from circa 1920.
