- DescriptionDutch ovens were used for cooking food on the hearth in front of the fire. This is the bottle jack from a Dutch oven, which also came with a fly wheel and drip pan. It was last used by the donor and his wife in front of the kitchen fire circa 1945, and is believed to date from circa 1920.
