Nails used for attaching an arming iron to the axle bed of an axle. They seem to be hand made, and of varying lengths.
These eight nails were used for attaching an arming iron to the axle bed of a wooden wagon axle. Each nail is flat headed and tapering. They seem to be hand made, and of varying lengths. Axle arming was fixed to the arm of a wooden axle to take the wear of the box in the revolving wheel. The origin of these nails is not known.
