    Tripod and pot hanger was given by Bushell Bros., wheelwrights and boat builders in Tring, Hertfordshire. Gypsy origins.
    This tripod and pot hanger was given to the donor by Bushell Bros., wheelwrights and boat builders in Tring, Hertfordshire. The original record states that it was 'used by Gypsies for cooking food in the open air'. A pot was suspended from the hook over the fire.

They were used by gypsies [Gypsies] for cooking food in the open air. The pot (54/96B) was suspended from the hook over the fire. // The tripod consists of three thin round metal bars, approximately 4 feet 4 inches in length, each of which is bent round at the top into a loop. Through the three loops is a bolt, with a screw at one end and a loop at the other. The pot hanger is fixed to the loop in the end of the bolt and hangs down between the legs. It consists of a chain, with hooks at either end. It is 28.75 inches in length. //
