A crusie is a simple form of oil lamp. This crusie came from Beldowney Castle, Aberdeenshire, and was known to have been there before 1898, when the donor lived there. It consists of two lipped pans, fixed onto a back that is notched for fixing on a nail or hook in the wall. The top pan can, as in the others, be tilted forwards as the oil diminishes.
