Description
This metal sheep bell is of the clucket type and is made from one piece of metal joined at the sides. It has a straight clapper and a loop at the top for fixing to a strap. Sheep bells were used to help shepherds locate their sheep.

Archival history
This bell had been in the donor's possession for over thirty years but he could not remember from where it had purchased it, although he thought it might have been at a junk shop, possibly in Hungerford.
