These shears are garden tools, used at Highclere, Hampshire. They have a scissor-action, with tanged steel blades fitted into turned wooden handles. The manufacturer's stamp on one blade reads 'C.T. SKELTON & Co // SHEFFIELD', and a stamp on the other blade reads 'SOLID STEEL // MADE IN ENGLAND'.
