Glastonbury Music Festival Posters // 1997 and 1999, Worthy Farm, Pilton, Somerset. Glastonbury Festival attracts music lovers from all over the world to a farm in rural Somerset to share the enjoyment of music. Both music and being in the countryside are beneficial to mental health. // However, the experience of being around such large crowds can also be overwhelming. Alcohol and drug use associated with the Festival can also have an impact on mental health. There are Welfare Centres on site as well as the Samaritans for those seeking help. The Accessible Campsite is also a calm space for people to go during the Festival. // The first poster depicts a calming rural farm scene with people dancing. The second shows the psychedelic effect of music, drugs, and alcohol using bright colours and the merging forms of people. // MERL 2009/38/3 and 2009/38/5.
