This is a piece of orange card with various threads wrapped round it. Probably button hole thread in grey and brown colour. Also grey and brown colour was used to strengthen button holes. The object was used in tailoring trade for stitching and strengthening button holes.

MERL Miscellaneous note- Georgia Charitou- 4 November 2014- The object belongs to the Kellman Collection. The items of the collection were used by the donor's father, Alexander Kellman, who was a tailor in Queens Road, Reading, Berkshire.
