  • Description
    Ten service flashes, Women's Land Army (WLA). Each was awarded for 6 months of satisfactory service. From Miss P. Genever, member 1942-1950.
    Ten service flashes, worn as part of the uniform of the Women's Land Army (WLA). Each service flash was awarded for six months of satisfactory service in the WLA. Two of the flashes are triangular, and are green with a gold line; seven are triangular, and are red with a green line; and one is diamond-shaped and red with a green line. The flashes belonged to the donor's half sister, Miss P. Genever, who was a member of the WLA 1942-1950.

    Women's Land Army Armband. These armbands formed part of the uniform for the Women's Land Army. They were a way of recognising the commitment and achievement showed by the members. Each diamond on the armband represents 1 year of service. Members were also awarded triangular badges which they would sew onto their armbands. Each triangle represented 6 months of satisfactory service. 2007/55; 2007/54; 96/76/1; 96/78/1-10.
