    Tailor's shears. Used by Mr. Ginger, chief cutter and fitter at Bradley's London c.1907, and Mr. Kellman, master tailor in Reading, Berkshire.
    These are heavy duty tailor's scissors, also known as tailor's shears. They are made of high quality steel and the handles are painted black. They were originally used by Mr. Nathan David Ginger, chief cutter and fitter at Bradley's in London c.1907, and then by donor's father, Alexander Kellman, master tailor in Reading, Berkshire. There is also the inscription: R. HEINISCH // INVENTOR // NEWARK N. J.'

    MERL Miscellaneous note- Georgia Charitou- 4 November 2014- These tailoring shears were manufactured about 100 years ago by an American Company called R. Heinisch Inventor in Newark, New Jersey, U.S.A. They were used by the donor's grandfather, Mr. Nathan David Ginger during his employment as Chief cutter and Fitter at Bradley's circa 1907. During this period Bradley's was a well-known house for high quality tailoring. At the beginning of the Second World War in 1939, the tailoring shears were given to the father's donor Alexander Kellman, who had been in business in Reading as a master tailor since being discharged from the British Army in the first World War. The object belongs to the Kellman Collection.
