    A wood and brass rule with sliding central section. Inscribed: 'I and D. SMALLWOOD MAKERS, B'HAM ENGLAND'.
    This is a small wood and brass rule with sliding central section. It has various scales marked on it. There is also the inscription: 'I and D. SMALLWOOD MAKERS // B'HAM ENGLAND'. This rule was used bu donor's father for determining button sizes in measurement known as 'ligne'.
