A 'hoof knife', used for trimming horses' hooves and also used to treat 'sand crack'. It has a straight serrated blade and a bone handle. The knife was used by a farrier at Stibbington, Cambridgeshire, in the nineteenth century. It is part of the collection of John Lester Gilbert, a botanist and local historian from Wansford in Cambridgeshire.
