    This is a silver tankard engraved 'Staffs Agriculture Society, Lichfield, Tamworth & Walsall District. Challenge Silver Tankard presented by G. P. Stubbs Esq. for Best Crawler Tractor'. The tankard was used as a prize for a competition.

    Prize tankards, 1949-1955. These tankards were given to the owner of the 'Best Kept Crawler Tractor' in the Lichfield, Tamworth, and Walsall District of the Staffordshire Agricultural Society. Only one recipient had the honour of being named on either cup. This was W. J. Petch, who won the prize in 1949, 1950, 1952, 1953, and 1955. The award was presented by G. P. Stubbs. It was indicative of growing enthusiasm for power farming and mechanisation. MERL 75/146, MERL 75/147.
