    This is a rectangular skimmer with 30 holes in 5 lines of 6. It is made of beech wood and has a slightly curved handle. Used for scooping butter from the churn the holes enable the buttermilk to drain away. This item was donated as part of a collection of dairy related objects from the University of Reading Department of Food Science.
