Description
Gingerbread mould with a design incorporating a heart and a figure. From John Denniss, bakers' family in East Hendred for 200 years.
This wooden gingerbread mould, made of yew wood, is incised with a design incorporating a heart on one side and a figure on the other. It was given to Lavinia Smith by Mr John Denniss, whose family had been bakers in East Hendred for 200 years.

Gingerbread mould. This wooden gingerbread mould, made of yew wood, is incised with a design incorporating a heart on one side and a figure on the other. It was given to Lavinia Smith by Mr John Denniss, whose family had been bakers in East Hendred for 200 years.
Archival history
MERL 'Catalogue index' card – 'Mr. John Denniss of East Hendred (Berkshire) gave this mould to Miss Smith. It measures 5.6 by 6.1 inches and is 1 inch thick.
