Clock in a wooden case made by Seth Thomas of Thomaston, Conneticut. Used by Mr and Mrs Wells, Cambridgeshire from 1876 until it was donated.

Polished wood case, glass front, gilt edges. Painted glass decoration- fruit and leaves. Roman numerals on face (Black on white. Brass handle and hinges. Gilt bevels to dial and panel. Two winders, one for the clock and one for the chime. American made by Seth Thomas of Thomaston, Connecticut. Dimensions: Width 18cm Depth 9.3cm, Height 24cm // Associated information: Originally belonged to Mr and Mrs W. Wells of Westbeach, Cambridgeshire; acquired by them in 1876. In constant use from then just before presented as a gift in 1969. When checked in 1997 this clock did not work. The key is worn as are the spindles.’
