    A brace and bit, a woodworking tool used for boring holes. It is made of wood, with a brass trim and a wooden head, and there is an iron bit fixed in the chuck. It belonged to the donor's grandfather, who was a gardener at Kennett Lodge in Theale, Berkshire, circa 1900.
