  • Physical description
1 painting: paper (mounted and glazed) ; good conditionMr. Morris' Wagon: Builder and date unknown, when noted in october 1949. Probably in the Talgarth area. This wagon is included to show the westward influence of Hereford features. The absence of barge-rathes is noted, but from similar wagons, noted at Whitney on Wye and at Inglesham, near Lechlade - of all places - this design is intended to carry thripples. Chamfering on the u/carriage is well done. The under side of the axle-beds is concave. An interesting feature is the chamfering on the spokes - also noted on a Hereford at Saycells Farm at Kempley, nr. Dymock in Gloucestershire. Mr. Morris' wagon was noted with a tumbril built 1892, with double straked broard wheels. This also had rem. sideboards similar to a Hereford. The name board was similar to that on the waggon. Notes made by James Arnold, "Rosedale", Newtown, Ledbury, Herefordshire.
