SPRING BALANCE SCALES. This spring balance was used in the kitchen, probably for weighing ingredients. It has a ring at the top and a hook at the bottom. The ingredients were either weighed by the hook or on the platform suspended from the base of the spring. This item came from Reading. MERL 66/193.
