    Four earthenware plates in a series entitled 'The Progress of the Quarter Loaf'. Each plate features a central design depicting a figure in blue on a white background, and the edges of the plates have raised decoration. The four figures depicted are 'The Sower', 'The Reaper', 'The Thrasher' and 'The Baker'. The plates date from the mid-nineteenth century.
