  • Description
    This shopping basket, known as a ‘boat basket’, is a rectangular frame basket made of buff willow, with a lapped handle. They were mass-produced on a mould and imported in large numbers from Spain. The design is a copy of the lidded ‘Southport’ boat basket made in Lancashire in great quantities before World War II for marketing eggs and butter.
