  • Label Text
BUTTER PRINT. This print is made of wood and was used for stamping designs on fresh butter. This example has a flower and leaf design and was made by Kenneth Whittle at Howards Bros of Chesham, Buckinghamshire. Why do you think the butter was printed in this way before being sold? Why I chose it? 'I loved the design on the bottom. It must have been hard to push into the butter without it sliding off the table or getting crushed.' MERL 64/227.
