A farmhouse lantern, Lavinia Smith believed it belonged to a shepherd. It would have held candles or rush.
This is a farmhouse lantern, although Lavinia Smith believed it belonged to a shepherd, with four horn windows and three dormered venitilation holes. It has a swing handle and a hinged door, and would have held candles or rush.
