    Heavy linen jacket said to have been a thatcher's jacket. Purchased c. 1937, as part of a liquidation sale of a Dorchester shop.
    This heavy linen jacket is said to have been a thatcher's jacket. The donor purchased it circa 1937 as part of the old stock of a Dorchester shop which was going into liquidation.

    MERL Recording form – ‘Remained as part of the stock of a Dorchester shop. Bought up in 1937 by another Dorchester trader. Purchased by Mr Curtis. Said to have been a thatcher’s jacket by the late Mr Jackman (draper and outfitter in Dorchester).'
