Open trawl basket,

Stanley Bird (Manufacturer)

This ‘open trawl’ basket was made by Stanley Bird, a basketmaker from Great Yarmouth, for the Museum. It is a round basket made of cane and two leagues of galvanised wire which run through the two roped handles. These baskets were used on trawlers for sorting the catch.
