Stanley Bird (Manufacturer)

This cod liver basket was made by Stanley Bird, a basketmaker from Great Yarmouth, for the Museum. It is a round basket with two roped handles, made of brown and white willow and cane, with hazel bottom sticks. These baskets were used by fishermen to hold cod’s livers on long distance trawlers.
