Miniature quarter cran herring basket,

This is a model of a quarter cran herring basket, made by Stanley Bird, a basketmaker of Great Yarmouth for the Museum. This miniature version is made in the same way as a full sized quarter cran, and would be used for ornament or as a plant pot holder. It is a round basket, made of peeled white willow with some cane in the weaving and in the handles and with 6 slats of unpeeled wood.
