    MERL miscellaneous note - 'Crown Derby Porcelain Company: established in 1877 was an entirely new factory specializing in high quality productions. After the visit of Queen Victoria in 1890 the prefix ''royal'' was added to the name of the company and the words Royal Crown Derby placed above the mark.'
