MERL 'Catalogue index' card – 'This is a pewter hot water jug, very plainly made, but of quite good design. The lid is hinged to the jug, and the handle is soldered to it. It was made by James Dixon and Sons of Sheffield and bears the numbers 52, 4, and 85 on the bottom. // It has been mended by soldering in one or two places.', No Lavinia Smith No. recorded.
