    This is a bridle, part of a harness for attaching to the head of a horse as a means of control or restraint. It originally came from Snell Farm, Rowhook, and was made by W. J. Hammond of Horsham, whose name is inscribed on a brass plate on the nose band. Two further brass plates, marked 'P', are on the bridle.
