    This is an extension bit-holder for a brace, a tool used for boring holes in wood. It is made of steel, and is inscribed 'Manufactured by J. A. Chapman Ltd. Sheffield England'. It belonged to Mr W. W. Field, a wheelwright in Winson, Gloucestershire. Mr Field retired circa 1960 and the business closed.
