  • Description
Spoke shaves are used for circular work. They were used in a variety of trades - by wheelwrights for shaving the spokes of wagon wheels, by carpenters for smoothing tool handles, by coopers for finishing off barrel staves, and by chair makers to shape and smooth chair seats, etc. This spoke shave was found by the donor on a dump in Lincolnshire. It is made of wood and iron.
