  • Description
    This is a water filter, designed for domestic use. The design was patented by G. Cheavins of Boston, Lincolnshire. The filter bears three inscription on oval plates on the surface: 'By her Majesty's Royal Letters Patent', 'G. Cheavins Improved Patent Gold Medal Self Cleaning Rapid Water Filter Boston England' and 'New Patent Removable Plate'. It is made of cream glazed stoneware. It dates from the nineteenth century.
