  • Description
    This toy model farm set was made by the donor c.1926 at Milltimber, Aberdeen. It is a comprehensive set, consisting of a farmhouse, stables, sheds and rickyard, as well as figures of people and animals, and farm carts and vehicles. The carts and animals were made by Britains Ltd. but were repainted by hand by the donor.

    MERL miscellaneous note - 'Description of Model Farm // Farm comprises: // House: 4 rooms, scullery et. - top floor furnished // Stable: 3 stalls, mangers with head stalls and chains, ladder to loft, hay racks // Stable loft with hay traps and corn-bin // Cart Shed // Byre: with stalls and spancil chains and calf-pen // All walls carved as stone - Rickyard with half stack (also a rounded stack, but this may be peculiar to Scotland and not suitable for model; can be left out). // Manure heap - Pump // Four men and a woman // Stock: 4 shorthorn cows // 2 calves // 3 horses // sow and litter // fowls and sheepdog // Farmer's gig, man, horse, barrow // 2 Tip-carts, 1 horse roller, 1 horse hay-rake // Plough, two horses, with chains, yoked to it - man holds tilts // (Carts, animals, etc. made by Britains Ltd., but repainted by hand by me).
