    This iron foot is a last, a tool on which shoe and boot makers constructed shoes to the right shape. It is not known where this last was used, but it is known to have been made by Mr Alfred Tyrrill, in Checkendon, Oxfordshire. The wood used to make the handle was also grown in a local wood.
