  • Description
    Goffering stacks were used for crimping lace ruffles and trimmings for caps and bonnets. The damp material was wound round the loose wooden quills and fitted into the slide. The wooden head of the frame was replaced and clamped down on to the quills. The stack was then placed near the fire to dry.
