    This steel cheese sampler was used to withdraw a sample from a cheese to test its quality. It has a trough shaped blade and an oval handle with a claw on one side, and is stamped with 'Brades Cast Steel'. It was found by a hospital engineer at Wokingham Hospital in Winnersh.

  • Archival history
    MERL 'Catalogue index' card – ‘This steel cheese scoop is 7.75 inches long and has a trough shaped blade used for testing the quality of cheese. The handle is oval in shape and the words ‘Brades Cast Steel’ are marked at the point where this handle joins the blade. The scoop was found at Wokingham Hospital by a hospital engineer.’
