  • Description
    This is a 'Star' hand drag rake, made by the Wexford Engineering Co. Ltd. at the Star Iron Works in Wexford, Ireland. It is of a type which was used before the introduction of horse rakes in the nineteenth century, and would have been used for raking up after the bulk of the hay crop or the sheaves of the corn crop had been cleared. This rake has a red-painted wooden handle and 24 iron tines.
