  • Description
This timber dog was used by a wheelwright in Tring, Hertfordshire. Timber dogs are used by woodworkers for moving logs that are too large to be moved by hand. A long piece of wood which acts as a lever is placed through the ring while the hook is passed over a log. By levering the handle forwards the whole log is moved.
